2K has announced the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One

A few month back I reported on a rumor about a potential next generation release for Gearbox’s Borderlands games, this rumor originally started with a classification for a Borderlands Remastered Collection on the Australian Classification Board with no notice of if this was actually happening but now we know.

2K games has officially confirmed today that Borderlands is coming to next generation consoles with Borderlands: The Handsome Collection which is set to feature both Borderlands 2 as well as the recently released Borderlands the Pre-Sequel which will also come with every piece of downloadable content. The game is set to come to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on March 24th and will even include four player split screen multiplayer which is really good to hear. I then assume if you own the game for a console such as the Xbox 360 and buy the Xbox One version you can transfer your save file over to the new version so you can start from where you last played.

A special limited edition version of the game called the “Claptrap in the box” will also be available with only 5000 copies in existence. This will set you back about $399 but will provide you with a remote controlled speaking Claptrap an twelve Lithographs, personally think it is still expensive though.
