Animal Crossing developers thought on the series future

I must be one of the few people in the Nintendo fan base who fails to get the appeal of the Animal Crossing games, I have spent time with of the four games in the series but each time  I reach the same fate, the whole monotony of the games that sets in after a couple of hours is almost unbearable. Maybe some of the people out there know something about this franchise I don’t because they keep coming back for more entry after entry they continue to be drawn back in.

Nintendo’s Aya Kyogoku offered some vague words in an interview which regards the series future. Simply she would like to see more Animal Crossing games become available in the future that could appeal to lifetime fans and newcomers alike.

Here is what she said:

It’s hard to say what Animal Crossing is going to look like in 10 years, but I do hope it’s still around and it’s reached out to an even wider range of audience. At the same time, I really hope it stays as franchise that’s both enjoyable to newcomers and people who’ve enjoyed the franchise for all this time.

Producer Katsuya Eguchi had some words to input as well:

In 20 [or] 30 years, when the users in that time are playing, I would like to say ‘when mom and dad were young, we were playing Animal Crossing, too!’. It would be great if we could say something like that. It might actually turn out that I’m more of a grandpa or grandma, but even then, it’d be great to say ‘back in my day, we used to play like this!

I admire there enthusiasm for the franchise there are a lot of people who do thoroughly enjoy the franchise and so I hope the franchise does survive so they can say those things. People will continue to come to this franchise so hopefully for those people who like these type of games they will have fun.
