Another Director Passes On Uncharted Movie

Well they let another one get away. Neil Burger, director of Limitless, backed out of the film project a few days ago after taking up the position in July 11, 2011 after another director backed out before him. The first director was David O. Russel who made The Fighter, but abandoned ship over the usual: “creative differences.”

That’s not the only change Variety is reporting. Writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley from the film National Treasure will be redoing the script for the motion picture adapatation.

Scribes Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, who were the architects of Disney’s “National Treasure” franchise, have been tapped to rewrite “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” for Sony Pictures, Atlas Entertainment and Arad Prods.

Neil Burger (“Limitless”) is no longer attached to direct the big-budget adaptation of Sony PlayStation’s blockbuster “Uncharted” videogame franchise, developed by Naughty Dog. Project will wait until the Wibberleys complete their script to tap a new helmer.

Apparently, a new director won’t be in the works until the Wibberleys complete their script. Third time’s the charm?
