Black Ops 2 for PC gets dedicated servers

The director of technology in Treyarch confirmed that  ranked servers coming to the Windows version of upcoming shooter, according to a tweet from Cesar Stastny.

The  shooter series has been inconsistent with its PC version. In 2009, the PC community was upset with Infinity Ward’s new IW Net multiplayer offering for Modern Warfare 2, which dropped dedicated servers altogether.

Treyarch fortunately brought dedicated servers back in 2010’s original Black Ops, and last year’s Modern Warfare 3 as well had dedicated servers, but they were unranked, so server administrator controlled all unlocks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II will release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 13.
