There’s a rumor, according to GamePointsNow, that a new Borderlands Prequel is coming out! Perhaps soon? It is said to be set between the events of Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2. What’s more exciting? The fact that you look into the life of a young Handsome Jack and his rise to power! You will get to choose from one of four new characters, all of which happen to be Handsome Jack’s Four Lieutenants!
You will be able to play as Wilhelm the Enforcer (which most will remember as the giant robot boss in Borderlands 2), Athena the Gladiator (a boss from the General Knoxx DLC for Borderlands 1), Nisha The Lawbringer (a girl that looks like the Sheriff of Lynchwood in Borderlands 2), and Fraptrap (a claptrap unit, pimped out military style!)
You’re supposedly going to be able to visit Pandora’s moon, Elpis, and even Hyperion’s H-shaped base! You know, the one that’s floating ominously in the back (kind of like the Death Star) during all the events of Borderlands 2, but you never, ever visit? Yeah, that one! There also promises to be a new Cryo class of weaponry, and jetpacks! You know, since there’s low gravity on Elpis, you’ll need to get around somehow, right?
This all sounds so exciting! And according to GamePointsNow, this came directly from the mouth of Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox! Sadly, as with all rumors, don’t believe the hype until it officially comes from the developer. Till then, I’ll wait patiently for news of Borderlands 3, along with actual information about this so-called prequel.
