If you were thinking the classic Pokemon games did not have selling power then prepare to be surprised. Nintendo has reported that the Virtual console releases of the classic Pokemon games have managed to sell 1.5 million copies not accounting for bundles).
The sales numbers for Pokemon Red, Blue, Green (available only in Japan), and Yellow were shared by Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima at the company’s financial results meeting yesterday. Kimishima shared with investors that more than half of sales came from the American market.
Perhaps with this great news Nintendo might consider working on bringing Gold, Silver and Crystal to the virtual console in the future.
