Final Fantasy XV release confirmed for 2016

Square Enix have many games that have been alluding fans of the company for many years now, with the major ones that people care about being Kingdom Hearts 3 as well as Final Fantasy XV. For the latter game, it has been in development for many years now and fans are slowly losing patience and hope for the upcoming game, but before they board the train and leave this game behind there is some good news to keep potential fans happy. Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV has provided confirmation to GameSpot about when we can expect the long awaited game to grace our consoles, sighting a release before 2017. So what does this mean? Well, it basically implies the game is set to release in 2016 at some point.

When GameSpot asked about when Square Enix plans to reveal the release date Tabata had this to say:

“At the very least, I can tell you that it isn’t going to be released this year. I think we’ll be able to tell you when we’re making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month.”

While this doesn’t confirm the game for release in 2016 some further information provided by Tabata does definitely suggest this with his following statement which leaves little room for interpretation:

“We can certainly say to people: it’s not going to be 2017. It’s going to be before that.”

At the time of writing a good portion of the game has already been built so releasing towards the end of 2016 is looking to be quite likely. For now we will just have to wait for a proper release window but fans can rest assured the game is certainly going to be here sooner rather then later.
