Nintendo has announced their new president

The passing of former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata this July was a tragedy that no one could have predicted, since this event many have wondered who would take the mantle of Nintendo president. One of the biggest predictions was that senior Nintendo staff members Shigeru Miyamoto or Genyo Takeda would take over, and for a while the pair were managing while a new president was chosen. From the general fanbase many had actually hoped that these two would take over, their general personalities and company repertoire made them satisfying choices. However, today Nintendo has announced that Tatsumi Kimishima will be taking over as Nintendo president.

It is likely you won’t be familiar with Tatsumi Kimishima, until today I honestly had no clue that this guy even existed, however he does have quite a history. In 2001 he was president of the Pokemon Company USA, and from 2002 to 2006 he was president of Nintendo of America. Clearly Tatsumi Kimishima has the credentials and the necessary skill set to run the company and live up to what Iwata helped to build.

It is still hard to believe that Satoru Iwata is gone but hopefully Tatsumi Kimishima can help the company forward and keep bringing the joy that Nintendo has delivered for years.
