Sony announces partnership with Activision for Call of Duty

For the past few years Microsoft has had their hands in the pockets of Call of Duty with a deal that saw all the extra content for the games released first for Xbox consoles, now this deal has come to an end. During Sony’s E3 press conference the Playstation team announced that Call of Duty would be a Playstation first series for the next few years.

The exact terms of this deal have not been announced but the best guess we can come up with does suggest that things will fall under a similar arrangement to Microsoft with Downloadable Content seeing first release on Playstation systems, something that will surely annoy Xbox fans. In the past Microsoft would show off the gameplay debut for Call of Duty but this has now changed and marks the end of an era as the first gameplay was shown on Sony’s E3 stage for the first time.
