The Purchase of Minecraft Stirs Up Pop Culture

Microsoft purchased Minecraft-makers, Mojang, yesterday. The controversial sale has been talked about by many people, mainly because of the scope of the purchase. Gamers are scared that Microsoft will end up killing the game, and economists are wondering if it was a good business deal.

Microsoft is very excited with their new purchase, and they won’t be killing Minecraft any time soon. They are also expected to make the money back within the year through game sales, micro transactions (skins), and apparel. Minecraft is one of the most widely marketed games ever, and is well known by adults and children all over the world.

Conan O’Brien poked fun at the purchase on his late night show, showing that the purchase won’t change anything. Minecraft is here to stay.
