Uncharted Writer Leaves Naughty Dog

UPDATE: Rumors that Amy Hennig was “forced out” of Naughty Dog have since been proven false in an Official Statement by Naughty Dog Co-Presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra on the matter of Hennig’s departure. We at GameLuster apologize for any inconvenience this misinformation may have caused our readers.

Amy Hennig, who served as the creative director and head writer for the Uncharted franchise, has reportedly left Naughty Dog. IGN reported that her final day at the company was March 3, and this was later verified by Sony, who had the following statement:

“We can confirm that Amy Hannig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contriubtions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development of Uncharted will not be impacted.”

Some sources claimed that Hennig was “forced out” by Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, who worked as creative director and game director respectively for the more recent of Naughty Dog’s titles, The Last of Us. This has since been proven false.

Regardless, this will apparently not affect the production schedule of the upcoming PS4 Uncharted game, so players can still look forward to that, albeit with a different set of writers than previous titles.
