The september sales numbers have been released, and it appears that the Xbox One is catching up to the Playstation 4 in average monthly sales. This is a shock to some investors, primarily since the Xbox One had many promotions, but the Playstation 4 still won the race probably due to Destiny.
Investors were told:
We expect Xbox One sales to exceed those of the PS4 for only the second month since launch (source: VentureBeat)
but unfortunately that did not come true.
The Xbox One may do well around the holiday season, as they announced many bundles, and a price drop.
