Big Changes to Classic Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield!

A new Pokémon Sword and Shield trailer revealed some new Gigantamax forms for some classic Kanto Pokémon.

First up is Pikachu, who is bringing back that classic fat Pikachu look with a long, glowing tail. Its special move, G-Max Volt Crash paralyzes all opponents. According to the trailer, a Pikachu that can Gigantamax is available if you have saved data for Let’s Go Pikachu on your console.

Next, Gigantamax Eevee was shown. This form of Eevee has a massive ring of white fluff around its neck. Its G-Max Cuddle infatuates all Pokémon of the opposite gender. Like with Pikachu, an Eevee capable of Gigamtomaxing is received if saved data from Let’s Go Eevee is on the console.

Gigantamax Charizard was the next form shown, where parts of Charizard appear to be made out of molten lava. It has a G-Max move called Wildfire that damages all non-Fire Type Pokémon for four additional turns.

Butterfree is also capable of Gigantamaxing, turning into a giant luna moth-like form with massive wings. While Gigantamaxed, Butterfree can use G-Max Befuddle, which can poison, paralyze, or put to sleep all of the enemy’s Pokémon.

The trailer ended with the reveal of Gigantamax Meowth, which is a very noodly Meowth. It can use G-Max Gold Rush, which earns you additional cash after a battle. Players can receive a Meowth that can Gigantamax as an early purchase bonus available until January 15, 2020.
