Check Out All the Announcements from the Latest Devolver Direct

On July 11, game publisher Devolver Digital held its latest Devolver Direct, an all-virtual streaming event featuring trailers, reveals, and announcements for several exciting upcoming games from Devolver and its partners.

The 45-minute stream told the story of hapless Devolver employees (including recurring characters Madge, Zane, Nina, and the rather intense Linda) attempting to escape the digital world, where they are subjected to the “endless hype” of nonstop game announcements. The event was packed with celebrity guests, ranging from Xbox’s Phil Spencer, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida, and “someone’s uncle who works at Nintendo” to esports champion SonicFox and even the Witcher himself, Geralt of Rivia (or, at least, his iconic bathtub). But if you had trouble picking out the actual announcements amid the blood, swearing, elaborate plot and, of course, hype, never fear! That’s what your friends at GameLuster are here for!

Here’s every game announced during the latest Devolver Direct, including the most up-to-date release information:

Fallguys

Shadow Warrior 3, the latest installment in the popular (and rather bloody) first-person shooter franchise, will be coming to PC in 2021. Developed by Flying Wild Hog, the game will star “modern ninja” Lo Wang as he quests to capture a mysterious ancient dragon. The game will feature the fast-paced, high-intensity combat and wide range of weapons beloved by fans of the Shadow Warrior series. I only wish that we didn’t have to wait an entire year to get our hands on this already stunning-looking title!

Described as a hybrid of battle royale, party game, and the TV shows Wipeout and American Ninja Warrior, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will release for PlayStation 4 and PC on August 4. Players will take control of one of 60 “Fall Guys” as they compete in challenging a variety of obstacle courses and ultimately grab the crown. As they play more and more, gamers will be able to unlock a veritable wardrobe’s worth of distinctive, colorful costumes for their Fall Guy. Deadly obstacles and high-stakes competition never looked so cute and cuddly!

Developed by Phobia Game Studio, Carrion examines what classic horror stories such as The Thing might look like from the monster’s perspective. Players take control of an amorphous creature referred to as the “Carrion Beast” as they explore a scientific complex setting, grow, evolve, gain new destructive powers and, of course, devour everyone and everything that stands in their way. Carrion will release on July 23 for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You aren’t in prison with these humans, Carrion Beast – they’re trapped inside with you!

Carrion

Olija, the latest game from Skeleton Crew Studios, is releasing for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and is speculated to be launching very soon. Experience the story of Faraday, a sailor who, following a tragic shipwreck, becomes a castaway on the mysterious island of Terraphage. Faraday will wield his powerful harpoon as he explores the secrets of a beautiful, pixel-styled 2D world, collects legendary hats, fights a variety of enemies, and ultimately searches for a way to escape. A demo is available to play for free right now. Who is Olija, and will she ultimately help or hinder your escape?

Fans of Croteam’s shooter series Serious Sam will be delighted to hear that Sam “Serious” Stone will be coming to both Steam and Stadia in August. The game, which features first-person shooter mechanics, is a prequel to Serious Sam 3: BFE, which initially released in 2011. Serious Sam will once again go up against the forces of evil overlord Mental with an eye-popping range of weapons at his disposal. Plus, look at that fantastic enemy variety that we’ve already seen in just a single trailer!

Finally, if you’re one of the many gaming fans disappointed by the cancellation of E3 and other physical events in 2020, you need wait no longer. Devolverland Expo, described as a “first-person marketing simulator,” is available on Steam right now. And best of all, it’s totally FREE! Play as a die-hard Devolver fan as you explore an abandoned convention center, collect merchandise ranging from tote bags to guns, fight off a variety of enemies, and discover trailers and information about several upcoming Devolver Digital titles.

In addition to Olija, Carrion, Fall Guys, and those mentioned above, you can even find info and Easter eggs related to other unreleased games, including dungeon crawler Blightbound, immersive simulator Weird West, and few which have not yet been officially announced. You won’t find any spoilers here – if you’re eager to see what there is to find, you’ll have to play Devolverland Expo for yourself! (What we will tell you: there are three unannounced games hidden within the Expo, and each features four collectibles which you can obtain).
