First Photo of Tom Holland As Nathan Drake Released

The first photo of Tom Holland in the iconic role of Nathan Drake has been released. Holland, best known for his work as Spider-Man and more recently as The Devil All The Time’s Arvin Holland, is set to play a young Nathan Drake in the forthcoming Uncharted film adaptation.

The image sees Holland kitted out in an outfit from the early Drake’s Fortune days, and he certainly looks the part. Holland captions the post with a greeting: “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Nate.”

Nolan North, who voiced Nathan Drake across the Uncharted franchise praised Holland for “smashing it” in the role. He captioned three images from the film shoot, one with himself in conversation with Holland and a couple of movie props.

How the movie ties into the game’s plot remains a mystery, and it’d be unsurprising to find Nolan North in a short cameo. He’ll likely speak to Holland’s Drake and make a remark that he looks awfully familiar.

In September, shots from the Uncharted movie set were shared on Twitter, showing both Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg is taking on the iconic role of Drake’s mentor Sully.

The flashy location hints at a heist sequence from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in a particular chapter called “Once A Thief.” However, as it is clearly a younger Sully, with dark hair and lack of the signature stache, the photos suggest a backstory first seen at the beginning of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

Along with Holland and Wahlberg, the film will also star Antonio Banderas in an undisclosed role, Tati Gabrielle, and Sophia Allen. The adaptation is to be written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the creative minds behind Iron ManTransformers: The Last Knight, and Men In Black: International.

The Uncharted film is due to arrive on July 16, 2021, but with the pandemic and development hell that has plagued the adaptation, the date could be subject to later change.
