John Marston Returning in Red Dead Redemption 2

The latest trailer for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released and it seems that everyone’s favorite protagonist, John Marston, will be returning.

It is unclear how much of a role he will play in the new game, but the trailer shows two shots of much younger Marston, his trademark scars still healing. Maybe Red Dead 2 will explain how those scars came to be.

In Red Dead 2, the player follows the story of Arthur Morgan, Dutch Van der Linde’s right-hand man. As the sequel follows the Van Der Linde gang, the same gang that Marston had to hunt down in the first game, it is no surprise that he would show up at some point in the sequel.

Along with the trailer Rockstar Games website listed a more fleshed out synopsis of the game, listed here:

“America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 has a release date of October 26. See below for the Official Trailer #3.
