A new Kingdom Hearts III trailer dedicated to 90 years of Mickey Mouse was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con, which celebrates his role in the series.
Mickey first appeared in Kingdom Hearts as Pete’s ship hand on the Timeless River, which was a tip of the hat towards Mickey’s very first appearance on screen, in a short cartoon titled Plane Crazy which was a part of the short film Steamboat Willie.
Mickey goes on in Kingdom Hearts to study under the sorcerer Yen Sid. Eventually he is chosen by the Keyblade and becomes a Keyblade master under the Darkness realm, but follows the path of the light.
This iconic character is the one who discovers the Heartless and builds the infamous Gummi Ship in Kingdom Hearts, which is used to voyage the worlds and rid them of the Heartless. In short, he has been a prominent figure in the Kingdom Hearts series since the game’s inception.
