Capcom has revealed that they will be bringing older Dead Rising games to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One

Many see the Dead Rising franchise as a typical Xbox series, the first game was an Xbox 360 exclusive, and despite Dead Rising 2 getting released on the Playstation 3, the next major game Dead Rising 3 was an Xbox One exclusive, and Dead Rising 4 is the same. Despite the history of the franchise, many Playstation users have hoped that one day the series might resume on their systems, and there is reason for them to get their hopes up.

Let’s just say don’t get your hopes up for Dead Rising 3 or 4 on the Playstation 4, I am sorry, but that is not going to happen, what will happen however is the older games which will be coming to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Talking to Eurogamer, Capcom has revealed that the original game will be coming to current systems, furthermore William Bacon (Director of Digital Platforms at Capcom) confirmed via NeoGAF that not only is the first Dead Rising game coming to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but the last generation sequels as well. This includes Dead Rising 2, as well as Dead Rising: Off the Record, although in regards to all of these games it is unclear whether Capcom will be dealing in a straight port, or whether this is a remaster.

All I can say is that this is great news for Dead Rising fans, 2016 marks the franchise’s tenth anniversary, so it is great to know many of the older games are seeing new life. Hopefully every game will see a release in 2016, but we won’t know anything until Capcom reveals more information.
