Guardians of Middle-earth coming this fall

Arguably the best movie franchise ever, besides Harry Potter of course, has spawned yet another game called Guardians of Middle-Earth, which will be a multiplayer online battle game. It shall be developed by Monolith Productions of the F.E.A.R. series and will be playable on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in autumn.

The game will allow up to 10 players in 5 on 5 multiplayer battle venues that span across the Lord of the Rings Universe. Guardians will have 20 characters that you love, hate, or that just creep you out such as Gandalf, Sauron, and the precious Gollum. There will also be an in-game communication system and a leaderboard system that record palyers’ accomplishments.

Guardians will also include features from Peter Jackson’s upcoming prelude The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment says other characters will be available to around the release of the movie in December. Warner Bros. did not respond during “press time” (whenever that is) to GameSpot on whether or not those characters come with a price.
