New Super Mario Bros. 2, for the 3DS, will actually have downloadable content after its release. The announcement came from the latest Nintendo Direct video.
New Super Mario Bros. 2's Coin Rush mode, basically collect most coins on a select of random stages, a will allow for new content to be sold as DLC. President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, made it clear that the DLC does not mean a reduction in content or quality of the base product since they still haven't worked on DLC.
"Make no mistake, out of the box this is a full-featured Mario game as full-featured as we've ever made," Fils-Aime said.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be available both in retail and on the 3DS eShop on August 19.
Never thought I see the day that Mario and DLC will be together in a sentence, lets see if Nintendo can pull it off right.
