Yesterday’s Indie World Showcase video event announced a ton of exciting indie titles coming to the Nintendo Switch throughout the rest of 2021. Even better, two of these games were released immediately following the broadcast, meaning that they are available NOW for purchase via the Nintendo Switch eShop.
First is The Longing, coming from German-based Studio Seufz. This combination point and click adventure and idle game tells the story of The Shade, the last remaining servant of a long-forgotten king. The Shade must find ways to occupy their time for four hundred real time days as they wait for their lord to re-awaken. While waiting, they can explore the underground, decorate their home, and even spend a relaxing time reading or drawing. The Longing was also released for PC via Steam prior to its debut on Switch. It costs $14.99 on the eShop.
The second game released immediately was Draw Me a Pixel’s comedic adventure game There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension. Well, actually it isn’t a game. It’s right there in the title. You can solve puzzles, unlock secrets, and visit worlds inspired by a number of classic video games, this is not a game. Wrong Dimension is the sequel to the original 2015 There Is No Game, a short Game Jam title developed for Newgrounds. Prior to the Switch, Wrong Dimension released for both Windows and macOS as well as Android and iOS smart devices. It is available for $12.99 via the Nintendo eShop.
Other games announced in the Indie World Showcase will be released later in 2021, also via the Nintendo Switch eShop. These titles include Road 96, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Cris Tales, and many more.
