Rambo’s Release Date in Warzone Has Been Confirmed

Rambo is coming to Warzone, and an official release date has been announced. A skin and bow pack inspired by the iconic 80’s action franchise will be launching from May 20, 2021, according to a dramatic teaser trailer via the official Call of Duty Twitter account. The teaser reveals a flaming bow as Rambo tracks a soldier through dense woodland, captioned with the words “Become War”.

Last week, a cryptic tweet appeared to tease the arrival of Sylvester Stallone’s action hero. A fact sheet was released on Twitter for somebody identifying as “SURVIVORJOHN#1009062.”

The fact sheet further confirmed that Survivor John had five wins across five games under their belt, which lined up with the five films in the Rambo franchise. In response to questions from players, the developers would neither confirm nor deny the arrival of Rambo – until now.

Rambo’s arrival into the battle royale is fitting considering Warzone’s recent revamp with the launch of Season 3, as the iconic Verdansk map received a back-in-time facelift from 1984.

Two days after the launch, the official Call of Duty Twitter posted a cryptic teaser indicating the arrival of another iconic 80s action star, John McClane. The post is captioned with the following: “Air ducts are a complicated network of danger. If yours are in need of repair, call the best in the business at Nakatomi Duct Cleaning.” Nakatomi Duct Cleaning is a reference to Bruce Willis’ famous scene in an air vent inside the Nakatomi Plaza. The post also features other references to the Die Hard movie franchise.

In other Call of Duty news, there are fears that Call Of Duty 2021, while on course for release later this year, may not be as commercially successful as previous titles before it. According to a prominent industry leaker, Activision are implementing a “recovery road map”

The next title in the series is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the same team behind 2017’s gritty Call Of Duty WWII and Advanced Warfare, and is strongly linked to a return to the franchise’s World War 2 roots, or potentially a connection to the Korean War.
