Resident Evil 2 is a from the ground up remake

A remake of Resident Evil 2 was something fans had been desperately calling out for and earlier this year Capcom made the announcement that Resident Evil 2 would in fact be brought back for the current generation. The thing is many of us were thinking Resident Evil 2 was a remaster and this is understandable but it turns out that we were actually wrong, as Capcom taking to Twitter have confirmed that Resident Evil 2 is actually a from the ground up remake rather then a standard remaster. Capcom had this to say in a statement:

Seems to be a few people picking up a mistranslation in our own investor report. RE2 will be a full from the ground remake NOT a remaster.

The clarification was certainly welcome and hopefully will give people a new found appreciation for the return of Resident Evil 2.

Hi, I am Simon Smith, I am an avid video game fan and love to talk about and discuss games, which is what brought me here. I have been writing about games since 2012, mostly I enjoy spending my time writing about the Nintendo Switch but I also enjoy the 3DS as well as the Playstation 4. These days I cover most things from news, to reviews (I always have something in the works) to random pointless opinion pieces.
