The Stardew Valley 1.5 Update Will Finally Let Players Move Their Beds

There’s a lot of exciting content coming in the next Stardew Valley update. The chill farming simulator will add a significant new piece of end-game content, which may feature boats, as well as the ability to grow bananas, which won a Twitter poll to determine the fruit fans would most like to see in the game. (They defeated mangoes, passion fruit, and even that millennial favorite, avocados, to earn that honor).

However, on August 12, Stardew creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone announced a quality-of-life update on which fans have been waiting for years.

That’s right: In the 1.5 update of Stardew Valley, you will finally be able to move your bed.

The Stardew Valley farmhouse, where the player resides (along with their spouse and kids, should they choose to start a family), is a highly customizable space. Farmers can rearrange furniture, decorate the walls and floors of each room with a wide range of colorful patterns, and display trophies, statues, wall art, and other treasures they may acquire during their life in the Valley. An earlier update even added the ability to grow plants in pots and fill their house with beautiful butterflies via an indoor hutch.

However, one piece of furniture which was forced to remain in place was the bed. It sat in the middle of the bedroom, utterly untouchable. The bed will expand to accommodate a second sleeper following the farmer’s marriage, but otherwise cannot be altered in any way. Many players have complained to ConcernedApe regarding the bed, feeling that its fixed location has prevented them from creating their dream home.

Unfortunately, Barone’s tweet did not confirm where precisely the bed could be moved to. Will it have to stay inside your house, or can you sleep outside or in the barn with your animals? Can you place it on the roof, or in the cellar next to your wine-and-cheese aging casks? Unfortunately, it seems that these questions will not be answered until the update itself drops unless ConcernedApe decides to share more information at a later date.

Currently, there is no official release date for Stardew Valley’s 1.5 update. However, once it drops, fans will undoubtedly be moving their beds to all sorts of creative locations!
