Uncharted Film Has Been Delayed by One Week

The Uncharted film has been delayed again, but fortunately, only by one week. According to a report from Variety, the adaptation of Naughty Dog’s iconic video game series was slated for cinematic release on February 11, 2022, but will now make its debut on February 18.

The journey to bring the Uncharted film to the silver screen has been a long one, riddled with delays, six directors, and a global pandemic taking a toll on cinemas around the world.

The film’s earliest scheduled release in cinemas dates back to 2016 – which seems like a lifetime ago – and was later slated for release on March 5, 2021, followed by release dates of July 16 and Oct. 8. But it’s not only the COVID-19 pandemic causing havoc for the film’s release.

The film has infamously welcomed and waved goodbye to a number of directors. These include David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg, and Travis Knight.

Seventh time for trying, the film secured Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland and Venom, and last October, as previously reported by GameLuster, the film wrapped filming, posting an Uncharted clapperboard from the set to social media. Now, all we need is for it to reach the big screen.

The Uncharted film will star Tom Holland as a younger Nathan Drake, partnered with Mark Wahlberg as Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan (sporting the iconic stache). Sophia Ali will be playing Chloe Frazer. Antonio Banderas and Tati Gabrielle will be featuring in supporting roles.

Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Rafe Judkins wrote the script, while Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann and Evan Wells serve as executive producers.
