Devil May Cry 5 Gets a Release Date

The news from Gamescom 2018 continues to pour in this week. Among them comes what Capcom fans have been eagerly waiting for: a release date for what Capcom has boasted will be the best action game of all time, Devil May Cry 5. Fans of the franchise can look forward to the newest installment early next year.

Capcom revealed a new gameplay trailer for Devil May Cry 5 at Gamescom and information regarding the weaponized arm of the fourth game’s protagonist, Nero. Nero is known for his demonic arm called Devil Bringer in Devil May Cry 4. He loses his arm in a fight with a masked individual, which you can see in the trailer that was released during E3 2018. His new arm is mechanized and is called Devil Breaker. The Devil Breaker works similar to Devil Bringer in that it allows Nero to grab enemies, but the new arm can also be used in a variety of ways. For example, Nero can ride on his mechanical appendage like a rocket-powered surfboard or generate electricity to shock demons. The trailer also gave us a glimpse of Dante, the other protagonist of the game, and main hero from the Original Devil May Cry until Devil May Cry 3.

A rugged and battle Hardened Dante can be seen zipping through the streets to meet his quarry. Dante also has a new weapon he can use to demolish his enemies: the very motorcycle he rides! His motorcycle can be split in two and used to saw his enemies with the wheels or smash them with the blunt ends.

Devil May Cry 5 is set to launch on March 8 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Check out both our heroes in action in the gameplay trailer below:
