Stardew Valley Creator Teases “Significant End-Game Content” in 1.5 Update

In these uncertain, chaotic times, is there any better place to escape than to the beautiful Stardew Valley? The popular farming life simulator offers hours of relaxing gameplay as you cultivate crops, expand your house, explore ancient mines, catch a stunning variety of fish, and possibly even find love among the residents of Pelican Town.

Creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has continued to work consistently on Stardew Valley since its initial release in 2016. He has debuted several major content updates, including a multiplayer mode, which allows up to four farmers to live and work on a single farm together. Other new elements have included deep-sea fishing, secret note collecting, and the ability to raise fish and harvest roe on your farm.

On July 6, ConcernedApe took to Twitter to share a small preview of the upcoming 1.5 content update. The Tweet shows a picture of Willy’s fish and bait shop, which now features a mysterious door in the back. Over the door is an image that seems to show a boat.

What could this strange logo mean? Will players get a new area to explore? Will your farmer be able to craft a boat of their own and go deep-sea fishing whenever they want? For now, we can only speculate.

Also, Barone indicated that the update would add “a significant new piece of end-game content.” A previous update implemented fun end-game activities in the form of community improvement projects, such as a house for the character Pam. Hopefully, the new update will offer even more to do after the main task of restoring the town’s Community Center has been completed.

Unfortunately, the update will likely not be released for a little while. ConcernedApe stated that he and his team were “still in a ‘nose to the grindstone’ phase,” but was generally satisfied that steady progress is being made.

Stardew Valley is currently available for several platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC.
