Warzone Marks First Anniversary With New Content Coming Soon

Call of Duty’s hugely popular battle-royale, Warzone, yesterday marked its first anniversary. Now there’s a way for you to track and share your in-game records  (fortunately, I will not be sharing mine, they’ll be pretty woeful) via the Warzone Report. To claim your bragging rights over your teammates, you’ll need to head to Twitter and locate the post seen further below from Call of Duty’s official account.

Respond with the hashtag #WarzoneReport and your Activision gamertag, and after a few moments, the official account will respond to your tweet with a custom image of your tag’s stats. The customized report will detail the number of hours played within Warzone, games played, wins, kills, and deaths, as well as a kill/death ratio.

To further celebrate the one-year mark, there’s a chance that Warzone will be adding zombies to the gulag, after several high-profile streamers, including Ryan B, were sent special packages to mark the one-year anniversary, seen further down.

They received orange trousers with the word ‘Captured’ down one leg, and a white Call of Duty: Warzone card. Beneath the title reads: “There are no second chances after losing a battle here. The other prison is a hostile-rich environment. You’re safer in the ghoul-ag.”

The spelling is certainly intentional, and not a misprint, which lends to the theory the gulag will be soon crawling with the undead and might connect in some way to the Outbreak Mode recently introduced into Black Ops Cold War Season 2.

As we now know, as the second season draws to a close, Verdansk will be no more. The island will be destroyed to make way for a new map with a 1980’s twist more appropriate to the Black Ops Cold War storyline.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Mobile Season 2: Day of Reckoning launched yesterday, gifting players with two classic Modern Warfare maps, modes, and a familiar face from the past.
