Are you one of those people who is hoping that Splatoon might eventually grace 3DS systems, if you are then I feel you might be out of luck but that does not mean that the game won’t have any connection to the platform. The latest image for Splatoon actually shows the game having a connection of sorts to the 3DS systems Streetpass Plaza, while the general connection is looking to be minimal and simply provide us with a Splatoon inspired bit of headwear it is still a nice touch and a great way to provide a small bit of promotion to the game via a different platform.
