Gold Gold Adventure Gold is a management simulation RPG by Can Can Can A Man. Your goal is to build a town for adventurers to combat the spread of monsters. Build recruitment buildings and send adventurers on quests to build up their strength. Conquer dungeons and defend your growing town when monsters attack at night. Continue building up your town and creating the best adventurers or get overwhelmed by the monsters.
Gold Gold Adventure Gold has cute visuals and a building process that’s easy to understand. Setting up your town isn’t difficult and getting your first set of adventurers quickly starts the game. You can’t control the adventurers and must hope they listen to your commands. There aren’t many opportunities for upgrades and your choices for activities are limited. It’s a good simulation foundation but it needs more time to develop.

Currently, there isn’t a narrative that drives you but your goal is to survive against monsters. You recruit adventurers and build facilities to help them strengthen themselves. In return, they accept your quests and help protect your growing town. As you develop your town, you must guide adventurers towards destroying catacombs and exploring dungeons. If you don’t, monsters swarm and threaten to destroy your town.
The graphics are great with 3D buildings and having your 2D adventurers contrast them. It’s easy to see where your adventurers are and what they are doing. Looking around the map and identifying locations is also easy because they are distinct. Finding enemy structures and building your own is a simple process. There’s not much at the moment but the designs that are there are great to look at.

Most of the gameplay consists of you constructing buildings, hiring adventurers, and putting quest markers around the map. You don’t directly control the adventurers and must lure them with temptations of rewards. If adventurers aren’t showing up for your quests, you must increase the amount to make it worth their while. In exchange, adventurers do whatever you need them to do like clear out dungeons or explore areas.
This mechanic immerses you in the concept of what it would be like running an adventurer town. You wouldn’t control adventurers by giving orders, instead motivating them by offering rewards. Adventurers can fight but threats gradually become more dangerous and you must provide buildings to support them. It’s a great example of the give-and-take nature of commerce where both sides rely on each other.

However, not being able to control your adventurers is a tough mechanic to adapt to. This is easily seen when you need to clear out dungeons or defend your town. While adventurers aren’t unwilling, they often rely on your direction to identify threats. Otherwise, they mostly do their own activities or respond to nearby threats. While this is a necessary drawback, it’s still not something that’s easy to adapt to.
There isn’t much content and it’s easy to build a solid town within a few practice games. However, the concept is interesting and with more options, it could be a fantastic game. Gold Gold Adventure Gold is worth checking out if you like management simulation with a twist. Be patient and see what changes are in store because it could be amazing with the right additions.
