nirvanA initiative tells the story of two detectives, Ryuki Kurota and Mizuki Date, as they investigate a mysterious string of serial killings known as the “Half-Body Case,” where bodies were found bisected and left in bizarre locations. With the help of their AI partners Tama and Aiba, Ryuki and Mizuki can recreate crime scenes in stunning virtual reality as well as dive deep into the dreams and subconsciousness of witnesses.
This passcode is discovered during the virtual reality segment “Daring Escape at Naix” during Chapter 2 of all routes of Ryuki’s story in AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES – nirvanA initiative. Ryuki and Tama recreate a crime scene in an attempt to discover how an intruder entered and exited the office of Tokiko Shigure, president of the secret society Naixalotz, without triggering any of the building’s security cameras. Finding the pieces of this code is fairly straightforward, but actually solving it can be quite difficult, as Tama is reluctant to provide Ryuki with any significant hints.
To find the secret passcode, first use Tama’s “X-Ray” mode to investigate the front of Tokiko’s desk. There, you will find a diamond-shaped grid of numbers. It is recommended that you take a screenshot of these numbers so that you don’t have to memorize them. Next, use Tama’s “Thermo” mode to examine the tapestry behind Tokiko’s desk, which features the Nonuple X, the symbol of Naix. You will see a series of seven boxes, indicating that you need to enter a seven-digit passcode. Finally, use “X-Ray” mode on the same tapestry to discover the keypad for entering the code.
At Tama’s prompting, investigate the statues in the office and you will find that they can be moved, exposing the keypad. Then, you will be prompted to enter the code.
The passcode for the hidden room can be found by taking the numbers in the diamond-shaped grid and multiplying them vertically – that is, treating the nine “x” shapes in the Nonuple X as multiplication symbols. For example, the first vertical row only has a “4,” so the answer is 4. The next has a “3” and a “3,” so 3 x 3 = 9. Continue calculating each row’s total like this, remembering that multiplying any number by zero always results in an answer of zero.
The correct passcode needed to solve “Daring Escape at Naix” is 4901095. Enter this passcode into the keypad and you will be able to find the hidden room adjacent to Tokiko’s office. Correctly solving this VR segment will earn you the achievement “Case Closed: Daring Escape at Naix.”
