How To Unlock Caldera St. Station In Alan Wake 2

Map

The first time you play as Alan Wake in the game, you will find yourself inside a talk show studio, trapped in a dark and shadowy place. Your main focus should be getting out of this area via the subway as soon as possible, but this is more challenging than it seems. So, without wasting time, leave the studio, and you will hear a phone ringing nearby.

When you pick up the phone, a mysterious voice will direct you to reach Caldera St. Subway Station, which can be located by going through a map on the board next to the telephone. Remember to collect this map and keep it with you. The above screenshot image shows what the map actually looks like.

Subway

Now, once you’re there, the subway will not be accessible unless you perform specific actions. At the beginning of this task, you were provided with the Angel Lamp, which will play a significant role in the entire unlocking process. In case you’re confused, the Angel Lamp is a device that can absorb light sources and drastically change your surroundings. It is mainly used for finding hidden entrances to locations such as Caldera St. Station.

You will need two light sources to make your way to the Subway entrance, one for unveiling the staircase leading inside and one for accessing the way into the Station. Here is where you can find the two light sources you will require:

Finding The First Light Source

Light 1

You can find the first light source while walking through an alley next to a big board sign saying, “Neighbourhood Illumination.” This area features a lit street lamp, which can be absorbed, so without any hesitation, get near it and use your Angel Lamp to take out the light. With the light in hand, walk back to the Subway and release the light into the street lamp just beside you. This will open up the staircase towards the Subway, allowing you to move further.

However, if you try to head inside, you will witness that one light source is insufficient, and you will need another to succeed in your task.

Finding The Second Light Source

Stairs

The second light source can be found on a yellow car, which will turn blue after you absorb the light using your Angel Lamp. To find the yellow car, you have to get out of the Subway and absorb the light you previously released to open up the path inside. When done, go right to the Station, and you will see another street light that you need to illuminate to open up the staircase leading to a pathway.

Ladder

Simply follow the pathway until you reach a ladder. Climb up, and then head down some stairs on the other side. This will eventually lead you to a yellow-marked sign on the road. On the left, just nearby, will be a save point you can reach by climbing up the stairs.

Light

Once you’re done, return to where you saw the yellow mark. From there, follow the pathway, starting with a small staircase, and keep walking until you find graffiti on the wall. Open the door under the graffiti, climb the stairs, and open the second door to end up on the road again. Finally, you will be able to see the car with its headlights on, so suck out the light from it and use it as the second light source to open up the way to the main Station.
