Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Receives Co-op Support, Paid DLC

Some might have forgotten that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker arrived for the Nintendo Switch. It now might be the perfect time to join the little adventure with a new update bringing some exciting additions to the game that was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct.

A free update has been released for the game that adds the option for two players to tackle levels together. This will make exploring certain levels easier, or might make some more challenging. Ultimately, this update allows families and friends to experience the game’s phenomenal puzzle design together, while younger players can be better assisted by their seniors.

In addition to the free update, paid downloadable content will be added to the game on March 14. Titled Captain Toad’s Special Episode, it will bring 18 new challenges to the game, as well as five new courses with unique designs. You can also expect new challenges to be added to existing stages.

Those who don’t own a copy of the game can buy a special digital version via the Nintendo eShop that will include the base game and additional content in one bundle. The new content will unlock once it releases on March 14. Although for anyone who buys the additional content right now, you will be able to access one of the new courses early, with the rest arriving on the actual release date.

You can see some of these new features in action in the trailer below.

In other Mario universe news, Nintendo confirmed that Super Mario Maker 2 would make its way to the Switch later this year. You can also expect Yoshi’s Crafted World to drop on March 29.

Do you think the addition of co-op was a good choice for Treasure Tracker? Let us know in the comments below.
