Eiji Aonuma clears up who the character is in the trailer, it is Link

A few hours after the initial trailer for the upcoming Wii U Zelda game Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma made people think when he made a comment stating that nobody said that was Link in the trailer, this was probably due to the initial argument surrounding the character when  it was shown based on gender and the character looking far to different, and the announcement made people start considering the possibilities for who this know mystery character was, personally I was sure for certain that this was Link and now Eiji Aonuma has made a statement about the character once again which as usual you can find below:

“It’s a rumour. Actually that comment I made jokingly. It’s not that I said that it wasn’t Link. It’s that I never said that it was Link. It’s not really the same thing, but I can understand how it could be taken that way. It seems like it has kind of taken off where people are saying ‘oh it’s a female character’ and it just kind of grew. But my intent in saying that was humour. You know, you have to show Link when you create a trailer for a Zelda announcement.”

“I don’t want people to get hung up on the way Link looks because ultimately Link represents the player in the game. I don’t want to define him so much that it becomes limiting to the players. I want players to focus on other parts of the trailer and not specifically on the character because the character Link represents, again, the player.”

Thankyou Aonuma for clearing that up and it is great to know that I was right and it clears up that Link is merly presented as the players character so he/she can be whatever gender the player wants, except in Skyward Sword Link and Zelda were in love in Skyward Sword but that’s just my impression. Then again I believe Link is a boy in most of the games by reference and also because of the female characters you meet.
