The Epic Games Store is offering Cardpocalypse and an Albion Online in-game pack this week. Both are available to claim at no cost through August 27, according to GameSpot. Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition are set to follow from August 27.
How Epic’s free-game program works
Epic offers at least one free PC game every Thursday at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, with some weeks featuring more than one title. To claim the games, users need a free Epic account and two-factor authentication enabled. Each offer is available for a week before the next selection takes its place.
Epic has given away hundreds of games through the program, which also extends to Android devices. Once a game is added to an account library during its offer period, it remains there permanently. Players do not need to install it during the promotion, and a bank card is usually not required because the order is completed at no cost.
Cardpocalypse
Developed by Gambrinous, the studio behind Guild of Dungeoneering, Cardpocalypse is set in the 1990s and centers on building decks around ultra-rare Champion cards. Players can trade, wager, and earn cards while expanding their collections. It is free to claim through August 27.
Albion Online: Epic Mage Bundle
Albion Online players, or those looking to start, can also claim the Epic Mage Bundle, valued at $55. The bundle includes enchanted vanity items, two unique mount skins, and progression rewards. It is an in-game bundle rather than a standalone game.
Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition
Starting August 27, Epic’s next free offerings will be Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition. Breathedge is a sci-fi game in which players and an immortal chicken investigate the truth behind a spaceship crash. Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition lets players take the reins and pursue equestrian competition.
