Every Thursday here on GL we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan.
This week’s chart covers 1/29-2/4. As always, you can find the full list here.
With the release of Atlus’ reimagining of their genre-defining JRPG, Persona 3 Reload, coming out at the tail-end of this week’s charts it’s no surprise that the game has taken the top spot for this week. Given the popularity of the Persona franchise as a whole, I wouldn’t be surprised if Reload remains in the top three for the foreseeable future. Atlus’ game isn’t the only new title on the list. Coming in at second place is Cygames’ action-RPG, Granblue Fantasy Relink, and in fourth Bandai Namco’s licensed fighting game, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. Both titles released just a day before Persona, though only Granblue and Persona, much like Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, had their PS4 ports make it into the charts.
Speaking of which, both Infinite Wealth versions saw a considerable dip this week, going all the way down to the seventh and eighth spots, with the PS4 port interestingly outselling its younger sibling. Though the smattering of popular new releases have much to do with this, I personally wasn’t expecting it to be kicked out of the top five. It’ll be interesting to see which titles remain and get bumped up or down in the coming weeks, especially with more popular titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth coming out later this month.
Here’s the full Famitsu software sales chart for this week:
- Persona 3 Reload (PS5): 76,368 (NEW)
- Granblue Fantasy Relink (PS5): 48,754 (NEW)
- Persona 3 Reload (PS4): 40,024 (NEW)

- Momotaro Dentetsu World: The Earth Spins With Hope (Switch): 11,464 (total 960,282)
Additionally, the list for hardware sales is as follows (console families are grouped together for simplicity):
NSW: 41,966
PS5: 34,484
XBS: 3,177
PS4: 605
3DS: 12
A slightly better week for the Xbox Series X|S, which usually sits at around 2,000 units sold per week. Though there may not be a particular reason for this, I’d be curious to see how Microsoft’s numbers go as the year progresses with some big name titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle releasing on the pair of consoles.
