Microsoft has plenty of things in the works right now, and a big part of it involves the Halo franchise. Microsoft and 343 Industries have today announced Halo Wars 2 for the Xbox One and Windows 10 during a conference for Gamescom 2015.
Halo Wars 2 takes a much different approach to things then the standard Halo games, where the standard games are first person shooters, Halo Wars 2 is a Real Time Strategy game. The key focus of these games is the ability to control armies of soldiers and take out enemies from a more managerial position as was the focus of the popular but mostly overlooked Halo Wars back on the Xbox 360. Unlike the previous game which was handled by Ensemble Studios, the sequel is being delivered by Total War developer Creative Assembly, as the original developer shut their doors back in 2009 shortly after the release of Halo Wars.
Nothing much else was revealed about the game but we have been made aware of the game being released in Fall of 2016. With the games announcement by Microsoft they shared an announcement trailer, it is worth noting that this trailer does not feature any actual gameplay and instead provides a simple CG trailer which you can watch below:
