Kotaro Uchikoshi has been keeping a low profile since he finished his Zero Escape Trilogy, until recently that is. During the Anime Expo, Spike Chunsoft, the developer of the first two Zero Escape games: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, unveiled a teaser trailer for Uchikoshi’s latest project AI: The Somnium Files.
Here is what we know so far. Yusuke Kozaki, the character designer for No More Heroes and Fire Emblem Awakening will be designing the characters for AI: The Somnium Files. It will be released for the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. No release date has been mentioned.
The teaser trailer is just that, a teaser. You can hear the eerie music as the trailer briefly introduces detective Kaname Date, the protagonist of the story. It also shows a girl sitting in front of an empty merry-go-round, the horses of the ride moving while upside down, giving the entire thing a creepy vibe. The length of the trailer is under a minute but you can decide for yourself what it entails after watching it below.
