Its time to get all excited again and start to temporarily ignore the launch of Super Smash Brothers for 3DS which is right on top of us. But why am I telling you to get excited, well it is simple the latest new Mega Evolution has been announced and it makes an old favorite legend look even cooler, before you say anything no it is not Celebii (though I wish it was).
The new Mega evolution is Rayquaza who was announced to have a mega evolution during a live stream of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.The Pokemon can use the ability Delta Stream and possesses the move Dragon Ascent.
Delta Stream activates a new “Strong Winds” weather condition. This lasts while Rayquaza is in battle and neutralizes weaknesses on Flying-types.
Rayquaza getting a Mega Evolution is quite interesting and this means that all three of the main legendary Pokemon from Ruby and Sapphire are now exceeding their original power and going to the next level. So this leaves me to theorize about the future of Pokemon and makes me wonder if in the future we will be seeing more legendary Pokemon taking this leap and if the entire future Pokemon lineup will eventually evolve to the mega form, or perhaps even further. One thing I know for sure if this is the case mega evolution will cease to be special but either way I am excited to know about any other Mega Evolutions that come about in the future.
