The April issue of Game Informer has revealed several new details on the upcoming Gears of War 4, it has been revealed that the new game will be set twenty five years after the events of Gears of War 3 and we will be playing as JD Fenix the son of prior series protagonist Marcus Fenix. Beyond this Game Informer also reveals new details about our three playable characters as well as new gameplay mechanics in the form of close-cover melee, as well as savage windstorms across the planet Sera.
The Coalition told Game Informer that Gears of War 4 sees the new trio, JD Fenix, Kait Diaz, and Delmont Walker surviving “one night in the woods” while encountering tons of terrifying new enemies. Both Del and JD were involved in a “classified incident” of which we will learn about throughout Gears of War 4. The game will also support 2-player couch co-op.
Spartacus star Liam McIntyre will play JD, Eugene Byrd from Battlefield Hardline, Bones and more recently Arrow is Del Walker, and Laura Bailey of Halo 5, Tales From the Borderlands, Bioshock Infinite as well as hundreds of other things plays Kait Diaz.
