New Xbox One update available in June, External Storage support, friend indentification

Ready Xbox One owners it is almost time to update your latest console with this new update that has just been announced by Microsoft themselves. In June this update will provide some big new inclusions including the main points Microsoft has highlighted which are external storage and the ability to identity friends by real names.

Here’s a quick overview of both of these items:

Easily Increase Games Capacity with External Storage Support

– Up to two external hard drives are supported at once
– Plug in a 256GB or larger USB 3.0 external hard drive
– After it’s formatted, you can copy and move games, apps and game add-ons to increase your storage capacity at home
– Easier way to take content to a friend’s house
– Will still need to sign in to Xbox Live if you’ve purchased your content digitally or insert a disc to verify your game ownership when you take your content on the road
– Won’t have to wait to re-download your game and all the DLC
– Can also choose to copy full games and all of the associated content in one easy step

Real Names Makes it Easier to Identify Friends

– Recognize people on your friends list and more easily discover people you already know who are on Xbox Live
– You’ll be able to share with all your friends, a subset of your choosing, friends of friends or none at all
– Name won’t show up in games
– Can change settings at any time

Xbox One owners I believe that this is what you have been waiting for and this update might improve your experience with the console and add capabilities that were stupidly not included in the original product. So just remember new update available in June.
