Atlus confirmed during Nintendo’s September 9, 2026 Direct that Persona 6 is coming to Switch 2. The presentation also brought a firm Switch 2 release date for Persona 4 Revival: May 20, 2027. The remake is slated to arrive earlier on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with those versions dated for February 18, 2027, according to Game Informer.
No release date has been announced for Persona 6. Atlus also has not said whether its Switch 2 version will launch alongside the previously announced PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions or arrive later.
Context Block
Mainline Persona games were long closely associated with PlayStation, but Atlus has steadily brought more of its catalog to Nintendo hardware. Persona 5 Royal arrived on Switch in 2022, followed by Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden in 2023. Persona 3 Reload reached Switch in 2025, while Metaphor: ReFantazio, a fantasy RPG made by several former Persona developers working under the Atlus umbrella, arrived in 2026.
That history provides context for the Switch 2 announcements. Persona 6 is now officially confirmed for Nintendo’s newer system, while Persona 4 Revival has a separate release schedule for Switch 2 and the other announced platforms. The confirmed dates establish a gap of roughly three months between the February 18 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and the May 20 Switch 2 launch.
The platform breakdown announced so far is:
- Persona 6 – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2; release date to be announced.
- Persona 4 Revival – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.
- Persona 4 Revival on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC – February 18, 2027.
- Persona 4 Revival on Switch 2 – May 20, 2027.
Persona 4 Revival is not presented as a simple re-release of Persona 4 Golden, which is already available on the previously listed platforms, including the original Switch. It is a full remake of the 2008 PlayStation 2 RPG. Game Informer reports that the project reworks the visuals from the ground up and includes quality-of-life improvements introduced in later entries. Unlike Persona 3 Reload, it also retains the narrative and gameplay additions from Persona 4 Golden.
The Persona 6 announcement, by contrast, remains limited in detail. Atlus used a brief teaser to confirm the Switch 2 version, but did not provide a release window or further information about timing across platforms. The platform confirmation is therefore the central new detail for the next mainline entry.
Editorial Verdict
The clear takeaway is that Persona 6 will reach Switch 2, ending uncertainty around whether Nintendo’s newer system would receive the game. For Persona 4 Revival, the announced dates give Switch 2 owners a defined release plan, even though that version will follow the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC launch.
Persona 4 Revival’s schedule does not establish Persona 6’s eventual release timing. Atlus has not confirmed a Persona 6 date, a release window, or whether Switch 2 will receive the game simultaneously with other platforms. Until the company shares those details, the Persona 4 Revival dates are a concrete schedule for that remake rather than a confirmed model for Persona 6.
For now, the Direct announcement gives both games a place on Switch 2, while only Persona 4 Revival has a dated launch. Further information from Atlus will be needed to clarify when Persona 6 arrives and how its release will be coordinated across its announced platforms.
