Final Fantasy 14‘s A Nocturne for Heroes crossover event returned on Thursday, September 24, 2026, bringing back the four-seat Regalia Type-G mount from Final Fantasy 15 for a window that closes Tuesday, October 13 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST, as reported by PCGamesN. The Regalia is Noctis’s signature ride, seats up to four party members at once, and folds into a winged form when players take to the skies. Anyone chasing it needs to move before the Evercold expansion arrives in January 2027.
Here’s the context: this is only the fourth time the Regalia has been up for grabs. A Nocturne for Heroes first ran in April 2019, then came back in 2021 and 2024, and each appearance has been brief. The mount doesn’t cost real money, but it isn’t free either – players need 200,000 MGP from the Gold Saucer’s Ironworks Vendor to actually buy it, on top of finishing the questline.
That questline has real gates attached. Players need at least one job at level 50 and must have cleared the base game’s main story quests before they can even start. The quest begins with Kipih Jakkya in Ul’dah’s Steps of Nald, roughly at x:8.5, y:9.7 on the map, and finishes at the Gold Saucer’s main lobby, where the Ironworks Vendor sells the mount alongside a Noctis outfit, his haircut, a Triple Triad card, and a set of Orchestrion Rolls.
Grinding 200,000 MGP isn’t trivial if a player is starting from zero, but there are reliable daily and weekly sources built into the game already. Daily Mini Cactpots, the weekly Fashion Report, and the weekly bonuses from Lord of Verminion are the standard routes, and stacking all three across the event’s roughly three-week run should cover the cost comfortably.
- Event window – September 24, 2026 at 1am PT / 4am ET / 9am BST / 10am CEST through October 13, 2026 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST
- Eligibility – one level 50 job plus completion of the base-game story quests
- Regalia Type-G price – 200,000 MGP at the Gold Saucer’s Ironworks Vendor
- Other rewards – Noctis’s outfit and haircut, a Triple Triad card, and Orchestrion Rolls
- Returning players – prior completions can be replayed, and anyone who stopped partway through can check the special site to resume
Whether the Regalia shows up again before Evercold wraps up its story is an open question. PCGamesN‘s coverage suggests another return is unlikely until the expansion reaches its final stages, though that’s a read on past patterns rather than anything Square Enix has confirmed. The next confirmed checkpoint for Evercold itself is Fanfest Tokyo on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, where the studio is expected to deliver its last major round of reveals before launch.
Are you rushing to finish the questline before October 13, and is the Regalia worth prioritizing over other pre-Evercold prep?
