Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version Announced for Switch

It seems that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is coming to the Nintendo Switch in an unexpected way.

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7 is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Cloud Version. It will release in Japan later this week. The game will only be playable through the cloud, and players will need a stable internet connection to do so. The game will be playable both docked, and in handheld form.

It will cost players 2,000 yen to have 180 days of access to the title. Save data for the game will also be stored on the cloud during the 180 day period. Gamers will be able to play up to 15 minutes of the game for free before committing to a purchase. All four expansion passes will be included.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version will release in Japan on May 24th. There is no word on if or when the cloud version of the game will come to the west.
