After being exclusive to Xbox and PC for one year, Square Enix announced Tuesday that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released for PS4 on October 11th in the form of a 20 Year Celebration Edition. All previously released DLC including Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, Cold Darkness Awakened, all DLC outfits, weapons, and Expedition Cards will be included.
A few new modes and changes are in store for the 20 Year Celebration Edition including a new difficulty setting named Extreme Survivor ultra-hard. There are also two new pieces of playable content and the addition of co-op for Endurance Mode.
The two new narrative- driven gameplay additions are titled “ Blood Ties” and “ Lara’s Nightmare” which “will let you explore Croft Manor and unlock its mysteries in a new story mode, then defend it against an undead invasion in “Lara’s Nightmare,” said Scot Amos Co-head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics.
PS4 owners will also have the ability to explore the Croft mansion in “Blood Ties” in first- person using Playstation VR.
Xbox One and PC players who purchased the season pass will receive all the additional content for free when it becomes available on October 11th with the exception of Playstation VR content.
