Super Smash Bros. Pic of the Day: Wii U Trophy Screen And Captain Rainbow Trophy Revealed

Trophies have been a large part of the Super Smash Bros. series. The give you an incentive to continue playing long after you have mastered each game mode. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there were achievements that you could complete to unlock certain trophies. We do not know if those will be returning, but we do know that trophies are back. This is the first that we have seen of the trophy screen in the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros., and it looks noticably different from the 3DS version’s. This trophy screen has a vibrant, orange plaid background, which contrasts the 3DS’s dark blue background. The trophy showcased is only the second trophy we have seen so far; the other trophy we have seen is of Saria from The Legend of Zelda.

This trophy shows Little Mac, but not as he is usually seen. This is how he looked in Captain Rainbow, a Japanese only game that was never localized due to terrible sales, where you had to train Little Mac so he could be thin again. It is great seeing the new trophy screen, and it will be exciting to see what new trophies await in the new Super Smash Bros. games
