Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna Additional Content Announced – E3 2018

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 arrived for Nintendo Switch in December last year, and was met with a warm reception by fans and critics. Among the biggest aspects of the main game was the story, beautifully told and complex. By the time any players reached the end they hoped for more stories from the world of Alrest. Luckily there is plenty of room for Monolith Soft to adapt and build the world’s story.

The story of Torna was a critical component of the original game, explaining the backstory for many of the primary characters. While the scenes shown in the original game were well done, it always felt like there was more room for story and greater exploration of Torna itself. Clearly Monolith must have planned to grab player’s interest with the deep backstory, as this is what the new paid story content will focus on.

Announced during Nintendo’s E3 Direct, a trailer played that showed the content’s focus on the original battle with Malos, the primary antagonist of the main game. Based on the trailer shown it looks like the game will have you playing as Lora, a fighter from back in the Torna days, who worked with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 antagonist Jin, also back in the day.

The gameplay looks to be the same as the main game, and the story seems as developed and interesting as it. While those who played the main game know how this will end, there is clearly room for plenty of expansion beyond what we have already seen that will expand the world of Alrest.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country will arrive in September. You can pre-purchase the content by buying the season pass off of the Nintendo eShop.
