10 Video Game Releases You Won’t Want To Miss: June 2023

Not only is June a month to celebrate Pride, it is also a month full of highly-anticipated game releases. June has everything from atmospheric horror, a long-awaited dungeon crawler and of course, the peaceful indie release. So without further ado, let’s take a look at what you can look forward to this month. 

Street Fighter 6 (June 2)

The latest installment in the Street Fighter franchise launches worldwide this week. The seventh main entry will feature three modes – Fighting Ground, Battle Hub and World Tour. With Fighting Ground and Battle Hub offering you the typical multiplayer experience, World Tour is for those who are new to the game who just want to enjoy a single-player experience. With 18 fighters to choose from who each offer unique fighting styles, Street Fighter 6 has something for everyone.

Diablo 4 (June 6)

The long awaited sequel in the Diablo series finally arrives this month and it is set to be an epic tale. Arriving on June 6 (or June 2 if you have early access), Lilith has been resurrected and is out for blood. As one of the game’s five character classes, play solo or with friends as you hunt her down and deal with the monsters that stand in your way. Crawl through dungeons, put together your perfect build and explore the world of Sanctuary all in Diablo 4.

Amnesia: The Bunker (June 6)

The Bunker is the fourth installment in the Amnesia series by Frictional Games and this one will see you explore an abandoned WW1 bunker. In this survival horror, you must do what it takes to escape even if that means coming face-to-face with the horrors that lurk in the corridors. Use weapons and tools at your disposal, work to keep the lights on and do what it takes to make it out alive.

Harmony: The Fall of Reverie (June 8)

DONTNOD are back with a bang this month with the release of Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. Play as Polly as she returns home to search for her missing mother. However, she soon finds that her hometown has changed drastically with the arrival of a new megacorporation. Luckily, Polly has the gift of clairvoyance which she can use to help the fate of humanity itself. With every action deciding your course, can you act before its too late?

Bleak Sword DX (June 8)

Bleak Sword DX is a dark fantasy action game that sees warriors fight their way across compact, cursed diorama battlegrounds. What was once a Apple Arcade title is now new-and-improved. With elegant controls, three game modes to choose from and twelve chapters to get through, it is bound to keep you busy this month.

Dordogne (June 13)

Dordogne is a beautiful narrative experience by UN JE NE SAIS QUOI that follows the story of Mimi as she reflects on her childhood. Set against the backdrop of the Dordogne region of France, you can embark on a vibrant journey across a hand-painted watercolor environment. Collect photos, sounds and scents that can fill your journal and look back on a summer of lost memories.

Aliens: Dark Descent (June 20)

Aliens: Dark Descent is an upcoming real-time strategy game set in the world of Alien. The squad-based, single-player action game will have you lead your team into the unknown as you try to stop the Xenomorph outbreak on the planet Lethe. Use a large arsenal of weapons to dispatch your enemies, call the shots and even develop your base to discover new tech.

Final Fantasy 16 (June 22)

Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that this month will finally see the release of Final Fantasy 16. This installment follows the story of Clive Rosfield in the land of Valisthea – a land blessed by the Mothercrystals. What was once a peaceful land is now threatened by the Blight and Clive and his companions must do what they can to save it. With dynamic combat, terrifying Eikons and of course, Chocobos, FF16 is set to be an epic adventure.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (June 27)

June also sees the arrival of a brand-new farming simulator. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life sees you take on the town of Forgotten Valley as you weave your own tale of family, friendship and belonging. Bring life to the land by planting crops, raising animals and selling your produce. When you’re not running your farm, you can meet the townsfolk and even make a family of your own.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (June 29)

June sees another release by Capcom and this time it’s in the form of adventure game, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. The supernatural puzzle-solving thriller is back and this time in HD. Solve your own murder in the ultimate mystery adventure game. Now with improved visuals, original music and by the creator of Ace Attorney, this is the perfect game to close out the month with.
