Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 And Warzone Are Forcing Ads On Players

Fans have had a lot to complain about with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, from its use of AI art assets to the way it does matchmaking, there’s a lot that has made fans unhappy. It seems Activision has taken it a step too far though, as following the launch of Season 4 in Black Ops 6, Activision has added new advertising sections to the weapon selection menu and the Events tab.

This means that as you go to select or edit your loadout featuring your meticulously curated weapon selection, there’s also a giant ad for the currently available weapon bundles you can go and purchase in the store. There’s no way to get rid of these advertisements, players only have the option to either ignore them or actively engage with them and give Activision what they want – your money!

The Events tab used to just showcase current events that were special and limited-time. Now however, there’s two new advertising blocks added there too, with one promoting the current Battle Pass and the other once again showing you potential weapon bundles you can purchase in the item store. These changes have made it so there are less and less menus and screens you can go to in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 without being asked to spend by Activision, and keep in mind these changes also all apply to Call of Duty: Warzone as well.

What do you make of Activision adding new ads to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone? Do you think advertisements have a place in fully-priced PC and console games?
