Despite releasing in 2017 to extremely negative reviews, EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II just became the best-selling game in Germany for the month of June in 2025. This shocking surge in player interest comes following a heavy sale on the game down to just a few dollars (or euros in this instance) when purchased on digital storefronts. The Star Wars-themed season of Fortnite also saw many looking to get their fix of more Star Wars shooter action.
The chart tracks the most purchased games of the month, not pure dollar/euro sales, with Star Wars Battlefront II skyrocketing to the top of the pack, pushing down EA Sports FC 25, Elden Ring Nightreign and even the evergreen Grand Theft Auto V. The newly released Death Stranding 2: On the Beach only just managed to make it into the top 10, showing how strong the Star Wars Battlefront II sales must have been to secure such a high placement on the chart.

The data comes from GSD Germany’s official game charts, which tracks the “most frequently” sold games on PC and console in Germany each month. The data is collected from Games Sales Data (GSD), which itself is a platform created by Video Games Europe (VGE) that tracks physical and digital sales of games. Publishers submit their digital sales in Germany for all platforms to these tracking companies, with the lone exception of Nintendo-published games purchased on the Nintendo eShop.
